A name and a job. Nothing else survives — and that is the finding, not a gap in our work. Arrives with the Book of the Dead.
Uamemti
the 19th assessor
Overview
One of the forty-two assessors who hear the Negative Confession in the hall of the Two Truths. This one comes forth from the house of slaughter, and the sin denied before them is defiled the wife of a man.
That is the whole of the attested record: a name, a position in the roster, and — where the text survives — a town and one sin. There is no myth, no cult, and no independent iconography. The entry stays this length until a further attestation is found.
What the texts say
In Budge's 1901 translation of the same papyrus, declaration 19 runs:
"Hail, thou serpent Uamemti, who comest forth from the house of slaughter, I have not defiled the wife of a man." [budge-1901]
Budge translates the address rather than transliterating it there; the name Uamemti comes from his 1904 list of the assessors, drawn from the same sheet of the same papyrus [budge-1904].

- Compare against other witnesses (Papyrus of Ani, Papyrus of Nu, the Turin recension); assessor names and order vary between copies.
- Confirm whether this is an independent being or an epithet of a known god.
