Qererti

see Qerti

The same assessor under two of Budge's spellings

Qererti is Budge's form, in the Papyrus of Ani, for the assessor his 1901 Book of the Dead calls Qerti — the eleventh of the forty-two who hear the Negative Confession.

The identification is positional and secure. Ani's running transliteration has "a Qererti per em Amentet," Hail, Qererti, coming forth from Amentet [budge-1895], and it stands immediately after the declaration addressed to the assessor who comes forth from Het-ka-Ptah, Memphis — number ten. BD 125's eleventh declaration is likewise addressed to one who comes "from Amentet" [budge-1901]. Same position, same origin, same sin denied.

Everything is on qerti, including the name's derivation from qerert, "Circle," and Budge's gloss of the dual as "the two sources of the Nile."

This entry closes C152, which carried Qerert/qererti as an open question for dozens of batches while the answer sat in two archived sources.
